Walk With Us

You can help us keep this land wild forever. You can protect the endangered, rare and edge-sensitive species that live here. Together, we can ensure the only footprints on this land are webbed feet, paws, claws and respectful human tracks.

Meet the residents of Malcolm Bluff Shores in these three slideshows:

Here are just a few important species who live here, and why they need your protection

  • Scarlet tanagers are an "edge sensitive" species, meaning they need a healthy, unfragmented woodland to flourish
  • Black bears thrive in large, undeveloped tracts of forest with opening so they can move through different habitats for their varied diet of small mammals, fruits and berries.
  • Hart's tongue fern is a species of special concern, found almost exclusively on the escarpment. Malcolm Bluff Shores is one of the few places in North America where the Hart's tongue fern thrives.
  • The soaring cliffs of the ancient and watchful Niagara Escarpment are a defining feature of Malcolm Bluff Shores. Cliffs – not office buildings – are the natural nesting place for the peregrine falcon.
